Liverpool
We’ll take the point, but we realize it might have been three, said Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Trent Alexander-Arnold praised Liverpool’s effort in their 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, but he also expressed some sadness that his team did not win all three points.
In a dramatic Premier League match, the Reds overcame a two-goal deficit at Anfield to earn a point.
After 28 minutes, strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus gave the league leaders a 2-0 lead.
However, the home team fought back, with Roberto Firmino’s headed equalizer in the 87th minute being set up by Alexander-Arnold after Mohamed Salah had pulled one back just before halftime.
Read on to find out what the No. 66 had to say when he spoke to Sky Sports about a tense encounter after the game.
Within the game…
Intense. An outstanding football contest. At times, I thought both teams played outstanding football. We never got off to the start that we wanted. Being two goals down at home is never a pleasant thing, but we showed grit, entered the game, undoubtedly scored the equalizer late, and had a great chance to win it in the closing moments. Although we realize it could have been three, we’ll accept the point.
Uncomfortably disorganized as a squad, lacking the intensity we desired, and possibly lacking a little bit of confidence to play. There were a few things, but I believe that near the conclusion of the first half we began to play in the manner in which we desired, and that in the second half we unquestionably did.
I believe we outplayed them the entire second half, curbed their opportunities, and had we done so, we might have scored a few goals. When playing against a team like that, you suffer the consequences of a slow start, which is what occurred today.
The way football works is that goals must come from one of the sides or through the centre. Martinelli, you’re up against a fantastic player, and their attacking line, like the entire club, is loaded with quality.
They have the intention, thus they will inevitably pose a threat. But we continued to play and made an effort to apply pressure, particularly late in the second half. We also overlooked a pen, which was a significant omission, but we persisted and eventually acquired it. Really, it’s just a battle we are in.
Regarding what the squad may gain from the second half of play…
They and City are two of the league’s top three teams. We aim to go for three points in every game. Although we were slightly disappointed to come up short today, we learned that we are capable of competing and possess the confidence to do so against a top-tier team like Arsenal. We had two excellent games against them, one at the Emirates and the other here. We’ve demonstrated time and time again that we can compete against the league’s finest.
