According to reporter Richard Cawley, Charlton Athletic will look to sign at least one goalkeeper this summer.
Charlton Athletic appear to be planning a goalkeeper overhaul this summer.

Lewis Ward has not played since joining the club in January and appears to be on his way out. Both Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Harry Isted are under contract until the end of the season, but with neither particularly starring, the door could be open for a new No.1 to emerge.

According to reporter Richard Cawley, the Addicks will target at least one goalie.

Charlton Athletic should consider these three goalkeepers as potential summer transfer targets.

Christian Walton – Ipswich Town

Walton played for Ipswich Town in League One, however while injured, he lost his starting spot to Vaclav Hladky early this season. As a result, it is likely that he will leave when his contract expires this summer.

While Walton’s playing time has been limited in recent seasons, he has previously proven to be an excellent goalkeeper in both League One and the Championship.

If available, the former Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper will be a target for many EFL clubs this summer.

Cameron Dawson – Sheffield Wednesday

Dawson, who once thrived in League One, is currently a backup goalkeeper in the Championship. He’s already proven to be an excellent shot-stopper, but at 28, he deserves to play on a weekly basis.

Dawson, another out-of-contract option, is expected to be in high demand this summer.

A return to starting games at Hillsborough appears improbable, but with Charlton Athletic, he may become a long-term starter for a club capable of competing for promotion in the future.

Corey Addai – Crawley Town

Last but not least is the lesser-known Corey Addai, whose efforts in League Two this season should have brought him to the attention of many.

The former Arsenal and Coventry City prospect returned to the EFL with Crawley Town in 2022 following a spell in Denmark, and he has been a revelation in the fourth division. However, with only a two-year contract, he may be able to go.

At 26 years old, he has the potential to be a long-term starter for Charlton Athletic.
