Jurgen Klopp has rested Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Alexis MacAllister for Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Anfield boss could start from the bench in Saturday’s massive Premier League clash between the South American trio.
All three players played for their country in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers last night and due to travel, the trio only have time for one training session in Kirkby.
With Mac Allister starting in midfield and Nunez enjoying a productive break with Uruguay, Klopp could take a potential risk by fielding a starting trio.

But with Liverpool now having depth in their squad, especially in attack, the Reds could afford to rest the trio against Everton. In addition, the likes of Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Wataru Endo could succeed in the derby, Nunez and Diaz in particular are fantastic options on Liverpool’s bench.
With Liverpool’s games coming hard and fast, team control is extremely important for Klopp. And resting Diaz, Nunez and Mac Allister on Saturday could be a smart move.
The trio could get some extra rest after playing for the South American national team, and starting on Everton’s bench could be a smart decision in the long run.

Also, as mentioned, the Toffees could easily have been eliminated without three players and Liverpool had the depth to get past their Merseyside rivals.
