Liverpool
There is only one unlikely route left for Liverpool to play in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool just have an unlikely path to the Champions League ahead of them next season
Newcastle United have now qualified for next season’s Champions League despite a goalless draw at relegation-threatened Leicester City.
Liverpool face a nearly impossible road to the Champions League next season after Newcastle United cemented their top-four position despite a stalemate at relegation-threatened Leicester City.
In a match that counted for both sides in the Premier League table, Newcastle hit the frame up to three times in 90 minutes. However, they failed to find a winner as Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron hit the post while Bruno Guimaraes also missed a golden chance.
Newcastle dominated throughout and would have been a worthy winner. The point obtained with the 0-0 certainly has an imprint on qualification for the Champions League.
It means Liverpool have an extremely difficult path to join them. But it’s not mathematically impossible for the Reds to prepare for an indirect clash with Manchester United.
United are currently fourth with 69 points from 36 games. Following the match against Newcastle, it is now formally a two-way street between rivals United and Liverpool to join Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle in Europe’s top competitions next season. In short, Liverpool must now beat Southampton on the final day and then hope to beat United in their final two games against Chelsea on Thursday night and Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
Goal difference would not be a concern as Liverpool’s is far superior to United’s.
United, though, boast home advantage at Old Trafford in their remaining two Premier League fixtures.
