Super Computer predicts Carrabao Cup draw with Man Utd and Liverpool share tight games

SPORTbible simulated the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup and highlighted some interesting matches.

Last night saw Tottenham crash out of the tournament on penalties against Fulham, while Brentford, Luton and Crystal Palace survived after nervy nights.

Third-round holders Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham, Brighton and Aston Villa are all top of the table after the regional stages of the cup competition.

Indeed, all draws are possible in the last 32 stages of the competition, which can lead to giant kills.

Although the actual third round draw will take place on Wednesday at around 22:15 GMT, with ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore and ex-Lioness Izzy Christiansen taking part, we decided to simulate our draw before Wednesday night. And it’s created some juicy relationships over the past 32 years.

Premier League champions Manchester City will certainly welcome a Premier League clash against the Etihad as Nottingham Forest or Burnley face each other on Wednesday night.

Elsewhere, Liverpool had a tough trip against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, having managed an unlikely 2-1 win there just last Sunday.

In addition, United travel to Brighton in what would be a tough fixture for Erik ten Hag’s men, while Arsenal, who have high hopes of winning the trophy this season after the summer, face Premier League rivals West Ham.

Here is the draw in its entirety. Match 1: Harrogate Town or Blackburn Rovers v Mansfield Thu

Match 2: Doncaster Rovers or Everton v Sutton United

Match 3: Wolves v Norwich City

Match 4: Manchester City vs. Nottingham Forest or Burnley

Match 5: Sheffield United or Lincoln City vs. Fulham

Match 6: Newcastle v Liverpool

Match 7: Leicester v Aston Villa

Match 8: Peterborough v Crystal Palace

Match 9: Bournemouth v Ipswich Town

Match 10: Stoke City vs. City of Luton

Match 11: Middlesbrough v Port Vale

Match 12: Brentford vs Chelsea or Wimbledon

Match 13: Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United

Match 14: Exeter City v Bradford City

Match 15: Salford City vs. City of Cardiff

Round 16: West Ham United v Arsenal
