Serie A side’s financial troubles complicate €30m deal for Tottenham and AC Milan target.

Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson during the summer window, but the Serie A club is seeking a high amount for his services.

The North Londoners have made significant progress under Ange Postecoglou’s supervision, and the club will be eager to make more acquisitions to extend the lineup available to the Australian coach. When it comes to boosting the squad’s potential, who better than a player compared to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah?

Tottenham hope to capitalize on rival’s struggles to sign Gudmundsson

Albert Gudmundsson has created waves in the Italian top league thanks to his versatility and exceptional performance. Some of Europe’s top teams, including Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Juventus, are interested in his talents, in addition to Tottenham.

Among potential suitors, the North Londoners are the front-runners due to Daniel Levy and the officials at N17’s relationship with Genoa, which has only grown stronger following Radu Dragusin’s £26.7 million (€31 million) transfer from Genoa in January, when the Romanian international chose to join Spurs over Bayern Munich.

While the potential of Djed Spence becoming a permanent transfer aids Tottenham’s efforts to sign the 26-year-old.

However, Genoa is asking for more than €30 million for Albert Gudmundsson, which is a high sum for the likes of financially challenged Inter Milan, making it difficult for the Nerazzurri to sign him. (H/t Caught Offside)
