Rotherham United re-sign ex-Peterborough and Coventry star.

Rotherham United has made a big signing as they aim to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.

The Millers were relegated to League One last month after a disappointing season in England’s second division, and Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City followed them into the bottom three.

Before the season finished, the South Yorkshire club fired Leam Richardson in order to allow Steve Evans to return to the club following his recent success with Stevenage, from which he left to take the position at the New York Stadium.

Rotherham have welcomed back another familiar race in the form of Jonson Clarke-Harris, six years after his initial departure. The striker joins the Millers as a free agent after announcing his departure from Peterborough United this summer.

Last season, the 29-year-old scored nine goals in 34 League One games, helping the Posh finish fourth in the table.

Many Blackpool fans had placed Clarke-Harris on their wish list, with the Seasiders looking for a new striker following Shayne Lavery’s departure at the end of his contract and the end of Jordan Rhodes’ loan spell from Huddersfield Town, though there may be movement to bring the latter back to Bloomfield Road permanently.
