Rangers conspiracy denied, Celtic anomaly noted; real post-split problem disclosed.

Andy Walker has informed Rangers that they can’t complain about the post-split dates, admitting that St Mirren are the only club that may feel shortchanged.

The SPFL has confirmed the final five Premiership matchups for the top and bottom six, with every point counting in the run-up as Celtic and Philippe Clement’s team compete for the title. Both teams face Hearts, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, and Dundee, but Rangers must play three away games to balance their home schedule.

The Hoops, on the other hand, were given an extra date at Celtic Park, giving them three home fixtures, including a potential title decider against the Light Blues on May 11. Some Rangers fans have expressed worry over the extra game on home ground provided by the supercomputer for the vital last five.

Walker claimed that only Stephen Robinson’s side could complain about the “anomaly” of meeting Celtic away three times this season. He told Go Radio: “I believe every club has 19 at home and 19 away.

“The tiny peculiarity is that St Mirren has defeated Rangers and Hearts three times at home, as well as Celtic three times away. I don’t see anyone complaining.

“We’re now at a point when it’s neck-and-neck, and you need to win your games. The only reason you’re losing at this point is due of pressure. The only reason the Rangers lost was due to the strain of the game, and they had never had players in this position before.”
