Newcastle United will find out who they will face on the first day of next season’s Premier League – as well as when they will play their other 37 matches – at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18th, when the Premier League releases the fixtures for next season.

That date comes less than a month after the end of their season, when the Magpies will face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The 2024/25 Premier League season will begin on Saturday, August 17, and go until Sunday, May 25. There will be no games on Christmas Eve, nor will there be a mid-season ‘winter break’ as has been done in previous seasons. There will be 33 weekends of action, four midweek rounds, and a bank holiday set of games, which will be announced in due time.

Eddie Howe’s side opened the season with a bang, defeating Champions League contenders Aston Villa 5-1 at St James’ Park. Goals from Sandro Tonali, who will be allowed to play from Newcastle’s third league game of the season forward, Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, and Harvey Barnes sealed a strong start to the season.

Leicester City and Ipswich Town have already been promoted to the Premier League, while West Brom, Norwich City, Leeds United, and Southampton will battle in the play-offs for the final promotion berth. Sheffield United have already been demoted from the Premier League, while Burnley’s fate was confirmed on Saturday. After only one season in the top division, Luton Town are almost certainly relegated and will join them in the Championship.
