Posh announce Retained List Peterborough United FC

Following the completion of the 2023-2024 season, the football club will be able to confirm its retained list.

Following the conclusion of the Sky Bet League One season, Peterborough United can confirm the Retained List, with a number of players, including striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, released at the end of their contracts in PE2.

Clarke-Harris had a fantastic spell at the club after joining from Bristol Rovers, winning back-to-back Sky Bet League One Golden Boots and leaving in seventh place on the all-time Posh Football League best scorer list with 78 goals in 166 games.

Manager Darren Ferguson said: “Jonson has been a great signing. He played such a pivotal role in us getting promoted, scored quite a few goals in the Championship and has made such a huge impact on what we have done in recent years.

“Of course, at the start of this season, we felt he would be leaving twice, particularly the first window, but stayed and by that time I had made my mind up that I wanted to go in a different direction. It was difficult for him at times because he wants to play games, but he understood it and I have to say he has been fantastic in the dressing room, fantastic for me, he has been a real help because he has never caused a problem and I think we have a lot of respect for each other. I wish him all the best, I am sure he will get a good move and he deserves it. He will never be forgotten for what he did here.”

Jeando Fuchs, a midfielder, also leaves the club following an injury-plagued season. “We certainly missed Jeando in certain games this season because he is different to what we have. He really understood how I wanted him to play the position, it took him a while because his game is all about energy and running around, where i wanted them to play it differently, but he is a brilliant lad, we just couldn’t offer him anything. He understands that. I firmly believe Jeando will get a good club and we wish him well.”

Goalkeeper Fynn Talley has also been released, while Ferguson announced that both Jed Steer and defender Josh Knight have been offered new contracts. A handful of other players will enter contract talks this summer as they approach the end of their contracts.

A number of additional Under 21 players and scholarship holders have been released, and we appreciate their efforts on behalf of the football club.

Posh have made several players available for transfer, including defender Romoney Crichlow and winger David Ajiboye.

The club would also like to thank the three loan players who have now returned to their parent clubs for their efforts and best wishes for the future.
