O’Neil’s Wolves target’s value surged 1000%, drawing Premier League bids.

A Wolves transfer target whose worth has soared by 1,000% has reportedly received proposals from Premier League rivals, dealing a blow to Gary O’Neil.

Wolves transfer news

Wanderers’ season has arguably petered out in recent weeks, with the club lying 11th in the Premier League table and failing to win any of their previous four games. It has been a positive campaign overall, with O’Neil improving after a turbulent summer, but further acquisitions will be required in the upcoming transfer window.

Mohamed Amoura, a Union SG forward who has two Europa League goals this season, has been linked with a move to Wolves at the end of the season. If he completes a move to Molineux, the Algerian may effectively team up with Matheus Cunha, who has been acclaimed for his “superb run of form” and “incredibly prolific” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig.

Attackers appear to be high on O’Neil’s list of summer transfer targets, with Southampton striker Che Adams also being considered. It would be third time fortunate for Wanderers, who have regarded him as a strong option for some time, and he may arrive cheaply because he is out of contract at Southampton this summer.

Aside from potential attacking signings, new faces in midfield may arrive, and Leicester City ace Wilfred Ndidi is said to be interested in joining Wolves, having impressed for the Foxes in the Championship this season but no doubt eager to return to Premier League action.

Ansu Fati, a Barcelona prodigy, is another example of a good player connected with Wolves, despite struggling to make an impression on loan at Brighton this season, starting only three league games and scoring twice in 17 appearances in total.

Gary O’Neil suffers Wolves transfer blow

According to a new report from DZ Foot [via Sport Witness], West Ham have made a firm proposal for Amoura, causing a setback for O’Neil and Wolves.

The Hammers are considered to be in the “best position” to recruit the 23-year-old, offering €15 million (£12.7 million) for his services, which is arguably €5 million (£4.2 million) lower than their valuation. His team, however, is anticipated to try to cash in on him this year after increasing his price “tenfold in one season”.

This is an undeniable setback for Wolves, as West Ham appear to be the front-runners to recruit Amoura ahead of next season, and it is now up to Wanderers to reply with a comparable offer.

A tally of 21 goals in just 37 Union appearances says eloquently about his goal-scoring prowess, and he has also scored six times in 22 outings for Algeria, demonstrating his ability to shine on the international stage.

Wolves will be hoping for another twist in the drama, but for the time being, it appears that Amoura will be joining their Premier League opponents, which will be difficult to accept.
