Man City warned that Liverpool would gain the upper hand in the title race if Bernardo Silva sold to the Reds..

Man City has been told that if they move Bernardo Silva this summer, Liverpool will gain an advantage in the Premier League title fight.

Despite their well-known financial difficulties, Barcelona has been linked to the Portugal star.

According to reports in Spain, a deal has been reached between the two teams, however talkSPORT understands this to be untrue.

The rumored £48 million price tag is far from adequate for City to even consider selling him, and the Premier League champions are not now open to receiving any offers.

Silva’s own comments about his future provided room for a possible relocation.

Jason Cundy, host of The Sports Bar and a former Chelsea defender, thinks City cannot afford to lose the 27-year-old, especially after selling Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus this summer.

In what has been a changing of the guard for Guardiola’s team, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Ferran Torres, and Sergio Aguero all left the Etihad Stadium last season.

There is no way they can allow Bernardo Silva to leave this window, he declared. They can’t, in my opinion.

“They have a history, and Pep just acknowledged that he was uncertain whether Bernardo would join his team a month ago.

Last year, it appeared that he was going to leave. They might not be able to afford to let go of another one.

If Liverpool is viewing this, it simply makes their [City’s] squad weaker.

Additionally, Cundy had concerns about Jack Grealish and the pressure it would put on the £100 million man.

“The season is such a long season,” he continued. At a crucial point in the Champions League, City has stumbled. The squad depth enters the picture here, and you need to put all of your efforts into it.

“If they let him go, I would be shocked. If they decide to let him go, I would be astonished beyond belief.

“We know how brilliant Jack can be, and they invested £100 million in him. At City, life might be difficult

“Given the expectations, it’s a difficult place to go. Under Pep, he had to learn in a different way.

“I have no doubt that he will be successful.

“However, Bernardo Silva was unplayable during portions of last season.”
