Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday set for Tottenham transfer battle

That comes after two Championship clubs allegedly planned attempts to acquire the 21-year-old, according to a Football Insider report.

Craig joined Spurs from the youth system, and on the penultimate day of the previous campaign, he made his senior debut in a 4-1 victory over Leeds United.
The midfielder is currently making an impression while on loan at another team. In recent years, he has also been a fixture for both Tottenham and Scotland at the junior level.
Craig signed a one-year loan with League Two team Doncaster Rovers back in January.

That is a move that has paid off in emphatic style, with the midfielder helping Grant McCann’s side enjoy a remarkable run in the second half of the campaign which has seen them gone from relegation battles to a side who have qualified for the play-offs.

Now it seems as though the contributions from Craig have attracted plenty of attention from further up the football pyramid than Doncaster.

As of right now, Craig is attracting interest from Championship teams Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday in front of the summer transfer window.

It’s believed that both teams are eager to finalize the loan signing of the Tottenham midfield player for the upcoming campaign.

Given that Craig is reportedly well-liked at Spurs, a loan move rather than a permanent one seems more feasible.

Indeed, the midfielder still has two years remaining on his contract with Tottenham, securing his future in North London until the end of the 2025/26 season.

It is a certain that Millwall will play in the Championship the following year. In contrast, Sheffield Wednesday leads the relegation zone by three points heading into the last day of the season.
The Owls will travel to The Stadium of Light to play Sunderland in their last season match.
Meanwhile, Millwall plays their final away game of the season against Swansea City in Wales.

Right now, there’s an intriguing connection emerging between Craig and teams like Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.
The midfielder is obviously making a big impression at Doncaster with his recent performances.
Indeed, all it takes to see the impact players like Craig have had recently at The Keepmoat Stadium is to look at the form they have produced over that time.

That would undoubtedly draw interest from other parties, but a move to a Championship team like Millwall or Sheffield Wednesday would be a significant advancement for him.

Craig might feel under pressure to make the transfer before the upcoming season because of the greater workload and responsibilities that come with playing in two divisions above his current level if he were to join one of those teams.

So with that in mind, the likes of Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday may have to give considerable thought as to whether this would be the right move for them to make for next season.
