Manchester United vs Liverpool: Team’s news, updates and line-ups..

Both Manchester United and Liverpool weren’t thrilled during the start of the 2022 Premier League season.
United have had a particularly difficult time under new manager Erik ten Hag, with the club currently bottoming out in the league, losing to both Brighton and Brentford in their opening matches of the season.
Liverpool are currently 15th after a draw against Fulham and Crystal Palace respectively. The Merseyside club could be seven points behind leaders Manchester City if the champions beat Newcastle, meaning a win at Old Trafford against a struggling United side will be crucial if they want to face a title challenge.
Liverpool will also be without new signing Darwin Nunez following a red card against Palace, with the 2019-20 champions having so far failed to regain the form in which they hung the Community Shield earlier this month.
Expected line-ups Manchester United vs Liverpool
United will welcome Anthony Martial again, but Ten Hag is unlikely to start the striker after returning from injury.
Club captain Harry Maguire could be replaced by Raphael Varane, while Luke Shaw’s place in the starting XI is in question, with Tyrell Malacia showing his qualities in the second half against Brentford.
Liverpool are without Nunez, but his place should be occupied by Roberto Firmino, fresh from an injury. Midfielder Naby Keita is also available for selection, but players like Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher are still injured.
Manchester United expected line-up
(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; Fernandes, Fred, Eriksen; Sancho, Ronaldo, Rashford.
Probable composition of Liverpool
(4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Diaz.
