Keep tuned for all the latest Man United transfer rumours, takeover updates and breaking news throughout the day.

Manchester United have confirmed the exit of Zidane Iqbal. The midfielder joins Dutch club FC Utrecht on a four-year deal for €1million, as well as a sell-on clause that entitles them to 40% of his next transfer fee.

Iqbal failed to feature competitively under Erik ten Hag after making his United senior debut in December 2021.

Meanwhile, United’s wait for their first signing of the summer continues on Monday as the Mason Mount saga rumbles on.

United have now seen three bids for their top midfield target turned down by Chelsea of upfront fees with add-ons worth in the region of £40million, £50m and £55m. Chelsea are holding out for an overall fee of £65m.

United have been linked with plenty of alternatives including Declan Rice and Moises Caceido.

Rabiot ‘approached’ by United

Adrien Rabiot has reportedly been approached by United despite seemingly committing to a new deal at Juventus.

The midfielder was of interest to United over the last two windows but negotiations hit stumbling blocks over wages.

The Mail now cliams United have made a last gasp reach-out to Rabiot this summer to put a spanner in the works regarding his Juventus agreement.

It says Erik ten Hag sees him as the ideal midfield partner for Casemiro. Rabiot’s contract runs dry in four days and United are said to have entered talks with mum and agent Veronique.

OPINION: United squad might get the Guardiola treatment from Erik ten Hag

In Ajax’s greatest season under Erik ten Hag there was a degree of consistency that comes from knowing your best team and having a squad small enough to keep everyone contented.

Ajax played 58 games in 2018/19, winning the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup and missing out on a Champions League final in the most agonising, heartbreaking circumstances. B

ut through all of that workload and drama, only 20 players played 10 or more games in that season. Eleven players featured in at least 46 of those matches.

Ten Hag certainly knew his best team in that season and he had built a team suited to his needs. It wasn’t needlessly big, but was slimmed down to incorporate the players he could rely on and keep motivated and it worked brilliantly.

United agree deal to sign Watford defender Harry Amass

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated Watford defender Harry Amass. The 16-year-old is one of the brightest young talents in English football and is tipped to have a successful future in the game.

The Manchester Evening News understands that while his signing hasn’t been officially completed yet, a deal has been agreed that will see him move to Manchester shortly.

Amass signed an early scholarship deal that ties him to Watford until he is 18, meaning that under the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan, United will have to pay compensation for his signature.

United ‘hold interest’ in Lille teenager

United hold an interest in Lille youngster Carlos Baleba, according to La Voix des Sports.

The 19-year-old played 19 times for the French club in Ligue 1 this season, grabbing two assists from midfield.

Newcastle are also interested in the Cameroonian who is being priced at around £25m, the report adds.

Why United have decided to sell Zidane Iqbal

Manchester United have included a buyback clause in the deal that will see Zidane Iqbal move to FC Utrecht for €1million, as well as a sell-on clause that entitles them to 40 per cent of his next transfer fee.

The 20-year-old has completed his move to the Eredivisie, but United have the option to buy the midfielder back should his development accelerate in the Netherland.

Iqbal shone on United’s pre-season tour last summer but he struggled to make a breakthrough last season, appearing on the bench 17 times but failing to make an appearance for Erik ten Hag’s side

Juan Sebastian Veron: Garnacho will be a superstar

Speaking to Gambling Zone, the Argentina great said:

I spoke to Javier Mascherano and he fully expects him to become a star. Playing for Manchester United at that age is not easy, but I think he has to have patience.

He needs to work really hard, because he has the chance to become a regular player for a really big player.

I really trust Mascherano’s words, so for him to say he is the best young talent in Argentina is a really big compliment – but it just shows his undoubted quality and he is someone who I am sure has a big future.

Mount, Caicedo, Rabiot – where United stand on possible midfield signings

Manchester United’s third bid for midfielder Mason Mount remains on the table, but the club are looking at alternatives after becoming frustrated with Chelsea’s approach.

United made a third offer worth an initial £50million for Mount last week, with a further £5million due in add-ons, but Chelsea have now rejected every bid for the 24-year-old, who is out of contract next summer.

The Blues are holding out for £65million for the England international and have told United they would accept £58million, with £7million in add-ons. They have also suggested holding face-to-face talks to try and resolve the impasse.

United ‘slap price tag’ on Scott McTominay

United will reportedly consider offers around £40m for Scott McTominay this summer.

The Daily Mail also says that the asking price is likely to put off chasers Newcastle.

Either McTominay and Fred are tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer, with the former being in a stronger position to stay given his younger age (26).

Onana offer expected ‘this week’

Inter Milan are expecting a €50m from United for their goalkeeper Andre Onana ‘this week’, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (viaSport Witness).

United are ready to step up their goalkeeper pursuit, with David De Gea’s contract expiring this week. The 32-year-old looks set to leave as a free agent.

Onana played with Erik ten Hag at Ajax and is admired by those in charge at Old Trafford, and this report suggests an offer is imminent.

Chelsea unwilling to meet Caicedo price

Chelsea have told Brighton they are unwilling to meet an £80m valuation for Moises Caicedo, according tothe Times.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are one of several eyeing Caicedo, with United also linked to the dynamic midfielder.

Brighton have suggested they are open to selling the Ecuadorian international but will not budge on their demands.

United have reportedly turned to Caicedo, following frustration in their own negotiations with Chelsea over Mason Mount.

United sale price-tags

According to a report from the Daily Mail, United are set to axe up to 13 players in order to raise funds this summer.

The Reds have slapped price-tags on a number of potential sales and will likely lose money on several.

United fans vote for club to sell 13 players in the summer transfer window

Manchester United fans want the club to sell 13 players in the transfer window and that’s not even including Zidane Iqbal.

United’s summer has once again gotten off to a slow start after some initial early promise and it’s cutting close to being a second June in succession without any new arrivals. While Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all already strengthened, Erik ten Hag has been forced to wait for his first new recruit.

The Dutchman made a positive start to life as United boss in his maiden campaign but it’s clear the squad needs significant improvement if United are to compete for the title. At least one new midfielder is the current priority but a stumbling block has been hit in the pursuit of Mason Mount.
