Barça has opted to unload Dest this summer and is seeking a fee of roughly €20 million for the USMNT international due to their plans to buy Cesar Azpilicueta.
SPORT is now saying that Manchester United has expressed interest in Dest and is prepared to pay the asking price for the young right-back.
Manchester United and Barcelona are already in negotiations for Frenkie de Jong, and they may soon begin discussions over a potential transfer for Dest as well. Erik ten Hag, manager of the Red Devils, is quite fond of the right-back and is familiar with him from their time together at Ajax.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Manchester United are most likely to split ways this summer. They are looking for a new right-back since Diogo Dalot hasn’t performed well enough, and Dest might be the answer.
Manchester United has reportedly showed interest in Dest and is prepared to pay the asking price for the young right-back, according to SPORT.
Frenkie de Jong is already the subject of negotiations between Manchester United and Barcelona; those parties may soon start talking about Dest as well. The right-back is a favorite of Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, who was acquainted with him during their time together at Ajax.
The likelihood of a separation between Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Manchester United this summer is high. Dest could be the new right-back they’re seeking for after Diogo Dalot didn’t perform well enough.
Dest has made 72 appearances for Barcelona since transferring from Ajax in 2020, totaling three goals and four assists. The USMNT star appears to be leaving the team, and a move to the Premier League is quite likely to happen given the club’s desire to get rid of him.
