Mac Allister: Liverpool make treble bid for your money – sources
Liverpool have offered Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister a “huge” salary that would triple his current deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The Merseysiders are making progress in arresting the 24-year-old Argentine world champion as they try to complete a deal in early summer.
Liverpool are believed to have met Mac Allister’s representatives for personal talks and offered him a contract worth over £150,000 a week.
It would mean a massive pay rise for the midfielder as the possibility of a mega-money move to the Merseyside giants draws closer.
Liverpool are yet to reach an agreement with the player but are increasingly confident of doing so and he is currently the most advanced of their potential signings. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants Mac Allister signed in time for the club’s return to pre-season action, while the player himself is said to be “very excited” to join the 19-time champions.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Klopp sees the World Cup winner as a “great” player who could fit straight into his starting eleven.
Man City and Man United have also been credited with an interest in the Brighton star.
Mac Allister has amassed 11 goals and two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions this season, including a last gasp winner against Manchester United.
