Liverpool star Roberto Firmino ‘agrees Barcelona transfer’ as contract with the Reds set to end

Roberto Firmino has decided to leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the season and Barcelona are expected to sign him once the summer transfer window opens
Roberto Firmino has agreed a deal to sign with Barcelona this summer after turning down the chance to stay at Liverpool, it is alleged.
The 31-year-old Brazilian striker has been confirmed to leave Anfield when his contract expires in June. Firmino had been offered a new contract with the Reds but he opted not to extend his eight-year stay with Merseyside after struggling for consistent playing time over the last two seasons.
Barcelona are now rumored to have won the bid to sign him, with the Mail reporting that the former Hoffenheim star will join Xavi.
Barça, who have well-documented financial woes, are on course to win their first LaLiga title since 2018 and are looking to bolster their attack without breaking the bank as Robert Lewandowski is currently their only recognized striker. Firmino’s departure was confirmed in March when Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed how difficult it was for the beloved 31-year-old to say goodbye. “It was not an easy decision for him,” said Klopp after beating archenemies Manchester United 7-0 as Firmino scored the final goal. “The reception he received today was absolutely exceptional.”
His club and country-mate Fabinho also paid tribute after the win, telling ESPN Brazil: “Bobby [Firmino] is a very special man. It’s great to have him as a teammate. He’s a man that everyone loves. He keeps it . It was really nice that he scored today, that he celebrated like that. Everyone on the bench, on the pitch celebrated with him because he’s the man that everyone loves.”
Player-agent, Roger Wittmann, revealed his client’s plans soon after, with Italian giants Inter Milan particularly relishing an interest in securing Firmino’s services on a free transfer. “At the moment I’m not talking about the options on the table,” Wittmann told the transfer market.
“Roberto is 100% focused on completing the season and helping Liverpool in their drive to qualify for the Champions League. The plan is this: once the club achieves their goals, Roberto and his family will start thinking. to what and where next might be a challenge”.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s primary objective at the moment is to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea. The Anfield club are leading the race for the England international’s summer services, according to an exclusive story from Football Insider.
The Blues have failed to agree a new contract with the 24-year-old star, who wants to join the Reds.
It is reported that Liverpool are ready to accept the terms of the contract to complete his signing. Even the board approved the deal.
According to The Mail, the versatile midfielder is valued at around £65m. The valuation should be considered very high given that his current contract at Stamford Bridge expires in just over a year.
Chelsea are practically out of the first four races. It will be interesting to see if Mount is ready to join Liverpool if they fail to qualify for the Champions League before next season.
