Liverpool star Harvey Elliott’s new jersey number leaked, as he prepares to emulate Lionel Messi.

Harvey Elliott, a star for Liverpool, may decide to emulate Lionel Messi this season by wearing a brand-new shirt number for Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Harvey Elliott’s new jersey number appears to have leaked online; the Liverpool prodigy will wear the No. 19 to emulate Lionel Messi.
Before suffering a horrific injury back in September of last year, the gifted teenager appeared to be on track to have a breakout season under Jurgen Klopp. After a brilliant season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship the year before, Elliott was pushing for a berth in the first squad, but the 19-year-old missed nearly five months of action after dislocating his ankle against Leeds.
Big things are anticipated of Elliott this summer after his return toward the end of last season, and it appears that the former Fulham youngster may receive a new jersey number for the 2022–23 Premier League season.
According to a recent Twitter rumor, Elliott has been given the No. 19 jersey this season, the same number Lionel Messi wore for Barcelona. After breaking into the Barcelona club as a teenager wearing the No.30 shirt, the Argentine superstar also played with the No.19 as his secondary number.
Elliott will have another opportunity to establish himself in the first team this year after missing a significant amount of action due to injury last year. According to The Athletic, the midfielder is ‘expected to play a much bigger role’ in the upcoming campaign.
Although the Reds are expected to make a move for Jude Bellingham next summer, Klopp is reportedly not planning to bolster his midfield options this summer. This will allow Elliott to play a bigger role in the middle of the park. The report also states that Elliott would have been “heavily involved” during the previous season if the horrific ankle injury he sustained at Elland Road hadn’t happened.
