Liverpool
Liverpool may already be planning a free transfer for 2023 as Jürgen Klopp may finally reunite with his former player.

Jude Bellingham might be Liverpool’s star midfielder in 2023, but Jürgen Klopp and his former teammate could reunite thanks to a cunning free transfer move.
The midfield for Liverpool will probably change next summer. Guarantee the glaring absence of investment in the region since Thiago Alcântara joined from Bayern Munich in 2020, that is essentially a given.
When next summer arrives, it will have been three years since the slick Spaniard arrived at Anfield, and during that time, Liverpool has lost Gini Wijnaldum while failing to add any midfielders of their own.
But things will be different the next year. According to all reports, the club will put everything on the line to get Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, with the England international being Jürgen Klopp’s top pick.
Gündoan can play as a number six or an eight, and Klopp may find his versatility to be very helpful. As a six, he would approach the role differently than Fabinho, possibly more similarly to how Henderson approaches it when he occasionally steps in for the Brazilian. Depending on the opponent, this might not necessarily be a bad thing.
Gündoan, who has frequently sprinted into the box for City over the past few seasons, might make those runs as an eight. Midfielders scoring from late runs into the box is one aspect of Liverpool’s style of play that is uncommon. Perhaps the only element of Klopp’s tactical scheme that need improving is this one.
When Gündoan’s contract with Man City expires, he will be 32 years old, but he still has plenty of time to play in the top flight. A move to bring Gündoan to Merseyside wouldn’t gather as much traction among supporters as Bellingham’s possible arrival, but it would be a wise move for the team from a football perspective, finally reuniting Klopp with one of his Borussia Dortmund players.
Another question is whether Gündoan would switch from Manchester to Liverpool given the previous rivalry between the two teams. The teams were not engaged in a battle for supremacy in world football when Milner made the same switch back in 2015. Instead, they were moving in different directions. However, as we have recently observed, there is more direct and indirect mobility than ever between the major teams. It would be silly of Gündoan to discount Liverpool, one of the top teams in the world.
If Liverpool were to sign him, he would be a wise choice. The transfer market might now be in a position where a move makes sense and Klopp can reunite with his old teammates.
