Liverpool is looking to wrap up their summer business by focusing on two very distinct midfielder types.
The Reds are in desperate need of an all-out defensive midfielder after losing Fabinho this week. To that purpose, they have been attempting—but failing—to reach an agreement with Southampton regarding Romeo Lavia.
They might also need a more box-to-box type acquisition now that Jordan Henderson is only a distant memory at Anfield. Andre of Fluminense is being pursued in light of this. As of today, Liverpool are in discussions with both players, claims Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy through X.
Southampton and Liverpool have begun talking about Romeo Lavia. He wants to go, but a fee compromise is still necessary, according to Reddy. “LFC is pursuing alternative possibilities.
They are negotiating for Andre with Fluminense. The club is considering the profiles of a controller and a progressive destroyer.
Liverpool is speaking to two
Liverpool still have a lot of work to do with the transfer market only having a few weeks left.
Given that they are almost certain to lose Thiago Alcantara at the end of the season, the need to get bodies through the door is even more obvious.
Unfortunately, it appears that Liverpool’s top brass may not be in agreement.
In terms of the two actors, they can probably each partially fill the position that the other is being sought after. With that in mind, rotating them both after bringing them in makes even more sense.
However, Southampton and Fluminense don’t seem particularly inclined to capitulate to the Reds in this situation. Perhaps Liverpool can sign Lavia now and the 22-year-old in January because the Brazilian team is eager to keep Andre through the end of their season in December. Please Reds, let’s get them both no matter what it takes.
It appears that they are just attempting to do Lavia or Andre at this time. This would be a mistake for us and possibly for many of our admirers.
Liverpool’s only real option is to go after both players. They require the figures.
