Liverpool injury updates as two definitely miss Fulham after Thiago spotted limping vs Tottenham Spurs

Liverpool injury news: Latest updates ahead of Reds clash against Fulham, with Thiago limping and even Jürgen Klopp himself having suffered a problem against Spurs.
After Diogo Jota’s late winner against Tottenham on Sunday, Liverpool are hoping for five straight wins by beating Fulham at Anfield on Wednesday – with another home game against Brentford next weekend.
Liverpool maintained their weak Champions League ambitions with a victory over Spurs, but with Manchester United and Newcastle both winners, there was no good ground in the top four.
The only thing Jurgen Klopp’s men can do is take three points and see where it takes them, with the Europa League more than within reach at least.
No doubt a fifth or sixth place would be a disappointment compared to what was expected at the start, but in the context of how the season has unfolded it would be an achievement in some respects. However, Liverpool are hoping to get back on track this summer and this season’s solid finish will be a big boost as the new campaign begins in August.
Beating Fulham will be the next thing Liverpool focus on and the Reds could once again have a few players in contention.

Roberto Firmino
Having missed the last three games with a muscle injury, it’s still unclear if Firmino could play against Fulham again or not.
He’s unlikely to start with so many other options, but with time slowing his Liverpool career, it would be a shame to miss another Anfield game. Klopp will provide an update during his press conference on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Naby Keita
Klopp believed Keïta would be back in training on Friday, although he was not pictured during the session. Even if he is back, it seems unlikely that he will get any minutes this week.
Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott featured against Spurs, the former particularly impressive again, while Jordan Henderson and James Milner also play one of the No.8 roles.
Thiago Alcantara
The Spain international was not named on the bench for Liverpool against Spurs but was there when he pulled a stunned expression from his manager while apparently translating for Darwin Núñez before stepping onto the pitch.
It’s not yet clear why Thiago was absent but he was spotted limping on the bench before kick-off which doesn’t seem like very good news.
Calvin Ramsay and Stefan Bajcetic
The talented teenage couple have been missing for some time and will be out until the summer, with Ramsay and Bajčetić sure to be the ones to watch in the future.
Ramsay could be an ideal candidate to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Bajčetić’s quality is already evident: he will play a major role in the midfield overhaul ahead of next season.
Jurgen Klopp
The Liverpool manager himself was injured in the game against Spurs when he charged on the touchline in front of fourth official David Brooks’ main stand while celebrating Diogo Jota’s victory.
Klopp said he was in pain and may have damaged his hamstrings. He’ll likely be asked to give an update on his own fitness ahead of Fulham’s press conference tomorrow!

Liverpool has Premier League fixture advantage that can test Newcastle and offer top-four hope
Liverpool cannot completely give up hope of qualifying for the Champions League just yet, with one Premier League advantage still to be felt in the top four race.
What if I told you that by the end of the week, Liverpool might be only three points away from the top four? What if I also said that Jürgen Klopp’s team has complete control over this situation?
Although it seems too good to be true, Liverpool is actually in that exact situation as it attempts to take advantage of an anomaly in the Premier League fixture schedule. The pressure to finish in the Champions League spots for Newcastle United after an outstanding first full season following investment could increase as a result. Liverpool will then play twice, and then Newcastle will have the opportunity to answer. Both games against Fulham and Brentford are scheduled in Anfield and offer clear opportunities for the Klopp’s Club, which this year has actually held a solid home record.
Of course, even if Liverpool would have produced six points of six, making six wins in a row, Newcastle would have the safety goal of two games in his hand to restore his benefit of nine points. But the first of those competitions – just under 24 hours after the Brentford game – will come across Arsenal, and it is always better to have points on the scoreboard, instead of playing games.
Arsenal has a strong possibility of beating Eddie Howe’s team while he is still clinging to his decline in the title. This would suddenly see Newcastle and Liverpool separated by three points, leaving the North East side with just one game to play. The mathematical advantage would still be in his favor, but the psychological pressure would mount.
Considering Newcastle have never been in such a situation before, Howe showed surprisingly few symptoms of stress. Players may have been able to get out lightly lately, but as the price gets closer, more excitement can build. Leicester have already proven that. Speaking of Leicester, the Foxes are still waiting for Newcastle and are probably fighting to avoid relegation. Likewise with Leiden. It’s a risky proposition. Brighton also proved to be a severe test; it will be played just two games after Arsenal’s, presenting the possibility of a significant slowdown in the Magpies’ progress.
Chelsea round out Newcastle’s remaining fixture list. Unlike their other opponents, Frank Lampard’s team looks utterly hopeless and has nothing to play for, making the game seem more difficult than it might turn out to be in practice. However, a talented team can still have a say in the race for the top four.
All of this, of course, depends on Liverpool complying with the agreements. However, the forthcoming Premier League schedule will give Klopp’s side a fantastic opportunity to really ramp up the pressure, and this will be a real test of Newcastle’s abilities
