Liverpool could have signed Phillips, Bissouma and Tielemans, but….

This summer, Liverpool has refrained from adding to their midfield.
With the additions of Calvin Ramsey from Aberdeen and free agent full-back Fabio Carvalho from Fulham, as well as Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a rumored club record cost, Liverpool has added three players this summer.
The Reds turned on the opportunity to recruit Kalvin Phillips before he joined Manchester City, according to The National News Sport, even though it was thought to be a relatively “simple” trade to accomplish.
Additionally, Yves Bissouma and Youri Tielemans were available for Jurgen Klopp’s team to sign before they transferred to Tottenham, but they choose not to do so from Brighton and Leicester, respectively.
They stated that they didn’t want to bring on new players whose starting salaries would be at the higher end of the pay scale.
