Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp plan a move for the Manchester United target gives the Reds new hope but Erik ten Hag not giving up

Following a number of injuries to their squad, the Reds may finally be tempted to return to the transfer market, with two players now placing them on high alert following the most recent reports.
After just two games in the new Premier League season, Liverpool is already dealing with another injury crisis, with nearly ten members of their first team squad nursing injuries ahead of Monday’s matchup with Manchester United in the north west derby.
Since Bennacer, a reported transfer target, turned down better terms from Milan, the Reds may have to return to the transfer market to fill the gaps. This has given them more incentive to do so. Yeremy Pino’s price has also been made public.
Following the long-term injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last month, Liverpool has been linked with a move for AC Milan midfielder Bennacer this summer. Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara are now also out until September, leaving Liverpool with a limited number of options in the middle of the park.
Bennacer’s current contract with Milan expires in 2024, and it was recently reported that he would be open to extending it if he could receive a sizable pay raise. However, Calciomercato, via SportBible, has now revealed that the Algerian international has rejected the club’s most recent offer.
According to reports, the 24-year-old only makes £33,500 a week, which is unquestionably a salary Liverpool could afford. His rejection of Milan’s offer may have made it even easier for the Reds to sign him this summer.
Following the departure of Mane last month, Liverpool has been linked with a move for Villarreal’s Pino for some time. The Reds have now been informed of his asking price should they decide to make a move for the European rising star.
Villarreal values their player at more than €50 million (£42.2 million), according to transfer expert Romano, who wrote for Caught Offside. However, negotiations for a transfer would be difficult because Villarreal is still determined to keep him.
Following the departures of Mane, Takumi Minamino, and Divock Origi, only Darwin Nunez has been added to the attack; however, the Uruguayan forward is expected to miss the next three games due to suspension, and Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino have been dealing with injuries.
In addition to Bennacer, Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion is also reportedly a target for Liverpool. Caicedo has made just 10 Premier League appearances since making his debut for the team in April but has made a significant impression this season.
However, according to a report by 90min, the Reds have joined Manchester United and Arsenal in trying to sign the Ecuadorian international as Klopp considers adding more players after injuries to Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, and Thiago left his midfield lacking depth.
However, the report continues, “Brighton have declared he is not for sale this summer” and “no chance” the Seagulls will let him go despite only signing him for just £4.5m 18 months ago, according to inside sources.
