Liverpool
Liverpool could be about to get an exciting closer look at an ideal midfield target.

Jurgen Klopp is not currently in a hurry to expand the team’s midfield alternatives. The Reds have a strong roster in this area, and while FSG will be eager to reshape the team and develop for the future, the club’s aging options are not currently of major concern.
The goal of Jürgen Klopp and his hiring team is to bring Jude Bellingham to Anfield by the summer of 2019. The 19-year-old midfielder may not be the only player Liverpool looks to sign, though. In the coming years, the Reds might require additional long-term reinforcements, and this summer could give Klopp the ideal opportunity for a scouting tour.
It is well known that Red Bull and Liverpool have a close working relationship. Liverpool will play both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig during the club’s preseason preparations this summer. FSG has conducted numerous deals with both teams in recent years.
The former may present Klopp and his scouts with the perfect chance to have a closer look at an exciting 18-year-old offensive midfielder who is currently on a great run of form.
Dijon Kameri has yet to play for Salzburg’s main squad, but the playmaker was essential to the side’s success in the UEFA Youth League last year, contributing to four goals in eight games to help Salzburg advance to the championship game.
In the Austrian second division, Kameri has also played frequently for Liefering, Salzburg’s secondary squad. The young midfielder was promoted to the club’s first team this summer, and so far, Kameri has taken advantage of his opportunity by standing out.
Kameri has scored against Olympiacos and Feyenoord in each of his previous two games, finding the back of the net on both occasions.
Kameri is the type of central midfielder that the club may be interested in, especially if he can maintain his strong preseason form. He is an industrial and robust midfielder with a voracious appetite for the ball and a work ethic that is ideal for Klopp’s gegenpress.
Kameri might end up on the club’s radar in the future with a great showing against Liverpool and then building on it by breaking through at first team level.
The team won’t be pursuing him this summer. But in a year or two, Kameri might be the perfect choice to add more youth to a midfield that is currently made up of many players who are already in their 30s or on the verge of approaching their later years of their careers.
When the Reds play Salzburg in Austria later this month, Kameri is definitely someone to keep an eye on given Liverpool’s recent history of buying Red Bull products.
