Leicester City will not sign Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi on a free transfer this summer, but there is interest from the MLS.

This is according to the Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

One thing is certain: Sensi will not play for Inter next season.

The 28-year-old’s contract with the Nerazzurri expires at the end of June. There would be little likelihood of him being offered a contract extension.

Sensi, who joined Inter five years ago from Sassuolo, will thus go on a free transfer.

The midfielder has struggled since his auspicious start with the Nerazzurri.

Sensi’s contributions have been limited, to say the least, due to injuries.

The Italian international has made 56 appearances for the Nerazzurri. He’s scored four goals in total across all competitions.

Furthermore, Sensi spent the second half of the 2021-22 season on loan at Sampdoria. He spent the entire previous season on loan with Monza.

Leicester Drop Interest In Stefano Sensi – MLS Clubs Keen

Leicester City were interested in signing Sensi during the January transfer window.

The Foxes wanted to bring in the Italian international to improve their squad as they sought promotion to the Premier League. Enzo Maresca, the Leicester coach, is a big fan of Sensi.

Inter, for their part, would have been delighted to trade the former Sassuolo midfielder for a nominal price six months before his contract expired.

However, the move fell through on the last day of the transfer window.

Sensi stayed with Inter for the remainder of the current season.

That would have given Leicester the option of signing Sensi on a free transfer.

However, FCIN reports that the Foxes’ interest in the 28-year-old has faded. They have already been promoted to the Premier League, therefore they have other ambitions with a bigger budget.

Sensi’s next destination remains unknown.

FCIN reports that some MLS clubs are interested in the Inter midfielder.
