Latest Injury update: Sydney Roosters look forward as their star returns..

Dominic Youngand Alex’s brother confirmed the England squad and the Sydney Roostersand the bound outfielder is “all good”.

Younger brother Young, who was due to play for England in their three-match Test series against Tonga, was instead taken to hospital after the infection spread to his brain.

Speaking about his first session with the Sydney Roosters before making the NRL, Youngand brother Alex revealed to Channel 9 News that Dominic is now “all good”.

“I was on the plane when he went to the hospital, so it was like what’s going on here. I was relieved, I was on FaceTime with him this morning and stuff, and he’s fine,” Young said. 9 News.

Dominic himself, now ruled out of the three Tests against Tonga, will return to Australia to meet up with his new Sydney Roosters team-mates in the coming weeks following his move from the Newcastle Knights at the end of 2023. However, speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, Young revealed that the infection was very serious.

“The infection that I had spread to the brain was pretty serious,” Young told the publication.
“Obviously I had to have it removed and it’s just being monitored now. It was surgery, they had to go through my nose and remove it, sort of drain it.

“It started with a sinus infection. I was stuck and flying over for a while and the pressure on my head made it worse.
“The doctors were quite worried, I went for an examination and then they noticed that it had spread a bit. That’s how it all started.”

Young is still in hospital in England, but that hasn’t stopped brother Alex from training in Australia. Although he only played low-level rugby league in England, he played in Jamaica last year and year in the Rugby League World Cup.
He revealed that his brother put in a good word for him, but the Roosters signed him based on the potential they saw.

“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I could do certain things,” the older brother told 9 News.
“I think that’s [Dominic spoke kindly about]. Obviously, they were looking to see if there was a potential there that they could work with and want to repay their faith,” he said.

The Roostersand pre-season officially starts in November, although post-season internationals including Dominic Young and England teammate Victor Radley will not be recalled until their off-season break is over.
