Jude Bellingham is a key transfer target for Liverpool, but there are few possibilities of a deal happening this summer. Instead, a more organized effort is expected to happen next year.

Jurgen Klopp's pledge to secure the transfer of Jude Bellingham will have to be broken by Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, once stated that the day he signed a player for $100 million would be the day he lost his job.

But if the Reds want to get Jude Bellingham, who is a key target at the club, they will have to do just that. The England international is not being sold by Borussia Dortmund this summer, but they may be open to offers the following year.

The 19-year-old is attracting a lot of interest, including from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid. However, Liverpool is thought to be in front of the line as they strive to improve their midfield options.

While Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are both in their 30s and the need for successors will grow more urgent in the near future, Georginio Wijnaldum has not yet been properly replaced. One of the top young central midfielders in the world is Bellingham, according to experts.

However, Dortmund is not in the business of offloading its star players all at once, and Erling Haaland’s departure has essentially led to the shop’s early closure this summer. With Jadon Sancho being sold in 2021, it is anticipated that they will be willing to lose no more than one pricey commodity per year.

Bellingham is anticipated to fill that position in the summer of 2023, and according to The Athletic, Dortmund has already set a price of £103 million on the midfielder. Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all in the running, according to reports this week from Germany that claim it would cost €120 million (£103 million) to sign him.

Such an amount would, however, break Liverpool’s club record, which Darwin Nunez’s £85 million arrival this summer already did. The Reds, however, are unfazed by the cost because they think Bellingham may serve as the team’s beating heart for more than ten years.
