Jurgen Klopp turns down opportunity to sign midfield trio

With Liverpool said to be happy with their midfield options for another year and postpone signing anyone else until the summer of 2023, the chances of a new arrival for that area of the pitch are remarkably slim but there have been plenty of opportunities to add to their ranks, according to reports.
According to National News Sport and SportBible, Jurgen Klopp ‘turned down the chance’ to sign Kalvin Phillips this summer before he joined Manchester City. The German also missed out on the chance to sign Youri Tielemans of Leicester and Yves Bissouma from Brighton.
Tielemans seems increasingly likely to join Arsenal, while Bissouma has since transferred to Tottenham Hotspur. Additionally, the fact that this occurred before Mohamed Salah committed to a new deal at Anfield raises the possibility that money was being set aside to cover his contract requirements.
