Jurgen Klopp rotates and Mikel Arteta has a tough decision to make in the expected lineups for Liverpool vs. Arsenal.
On Sunday afternoon in the Premier League, Liverpool will play host to Arsenal as Mikel Arteta attempts to overcome the Gunners’ dismal recent record at Anfield to reestablish Liverpool’s eight-point lead at the halfway mark.
On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool will play Arsenal in the Premier League in what is expected to be a game of utmost significance.
In their quest to win the Premier League for the first time in 19 years, the Gunners hope to maintain their momentum. After defeating Southampton 4-1 on Saturday, Manchester City’s lead was reduced to five points. However, Mikel Arteta’s team may regain their eight-point advantage by doing something they haven’t done since 2012.
Since earning a 3-3 draw in January 2016—a game Arteta participated in—Arsenal have lost six of their previous seven league games at Anfield. Liverpool has scored 22 goals over that time, compared to Arsenal’s four.
They will have a wonderful chance to break that losing streak at Anfield on Sunday. Liverpool has gone four games without a victory, drawing 0-0 with Chelsea after losses to Bournemouth, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
Liverpool needs a victory badly as they are in ninth place and 13 points off the top four. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah were not included in Jurgen Klopp’s six substitutions for Tuesday’s match against Chelsea, and he may make more alterations in the future.
In response to a question regarding his team selection, Klopp stated in the pre-game press conference: “We had one proper session since then. The guys don’t express to me their desire not to play. We are not in this circumstance.
