Liverpool is preparing a cash-plus-player swap offer to entice Inter Milan to sell Nicolo Barella. According to Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk, Leeds is also planning to sign a veteran Spanish player.

Julian Ward proposes a £60 million swap deal to bring a star

Liverpool is apparently prepared to make a sizable bid for Nicolo Barella in order to test Inter Milan’s resolve to keep the midfielder.

Following Thiago Alcantara’s injury, the Reds are having trouble in the middle of the field. He will probably be sidelined for at least six weeks due to the hamstring injury he suffered at Fulham. But Liverpool is hesitant to send him back right away given his past troubles.

They are thus being connected to a deal for Sporting Lisbon’s Matheus Nunes, who is valued at over £45 million.

Another choice is Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who Jurgen Klopp has long admired. According to a source, they are prepared to talk about a prospective swap deal with Inter that would involve one of the two Reds players.

However, the 29-year-old Croatian star would only be a deal for the short to medium term at most.

Instead, according to reports from Italy, Barella is using the supposed interest in Brozovic as a smokescreen.

Jurgen Klopp is apparently “bewitched” by the 25-year-old talent and would love to have him in his squad.

The Reds manager reportedly believes Barella is the best long-term successor for Gini Wijnaldum and someone who can energise the midfield with a never-ending effort. Surprisingly, Liverpool lacked that during the draw against Fulham.

Although Inter values the 39-cap Italy midfielder in the £75m range, signing him won’t be cheap.

However, Julian Ward thinks a deal can be reached and is intending to approach Liverpool with Nicolo Barella. Inter is in a bit of a bind financially and will need to raise money this summer.

As a result, many of their players, notably Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries, are receiving a lot of attention.

The two men are essential to Simeone Izaghi’s ambitions, the Inter manager has told the club’s board.

Barella is also crucial, but if a sizable offer is made, they will grudgingly agree to sell him. And Inzaghi is aware that losing just one player—in the case of Barella—is preferable to losing the other two.

Julian Ward, the sporting director for the Reds, is reportedly mulling a £60 million offer to sign him. To lower the cost for the Reds, Ward may decide to include Naby Keita in the trade.

The Guinean, who only has a year left on his Anfield contract, has not lived up to the enormous price Liverpool spent for him.

Roberto Firmino is coveted by Inter as well, but Klopp is hesitant to let him go.

However, Keita moving to the San Siro would at least provide Inzaghi with a comparable substitute.

Considering Liverpool’s chances of signing Barella, reputable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano acknowledges that they are interested in him.

Liverpool has been linked with Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella due to an injury crisis in the middle of the field. Fabrizio Romano has explained why it would be challenging to finalize a deal to bring Barella to Anfield.

Speaking to Caught Offside, he asserts that a move in 2023 appears to be more likely.

According to Romano, Liverpool has reportedly shown a long-term interest in Inter Milan player Nicolo Barella. “Unfortunately, Reds fans, it doesn’t go much further than that.

Liverpool and Inter Milan have not yet made any proposals or entered into any negotiations. Barella recently extended his contract with Inter, and the team views him as the future captain.

We’ll see what transpires in the future, but I believe it will be a more than challenging deal for this summer. Barella is currently only concerned with Inter Milan.
