Mason Mount’s opening words on the Manchester United move revealed that the big money move has been completed. Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has spoken for the first time after his move to the club was confirmed on Wednesday.Mount has signed a long-term deal at Old Trafford, where he was one of manager Erik ten Hag’s main targets earlier in the summer.

He joins the club from Chelsea for a fee of around £55m, with United having rejected three offers and pulled out of negotiations before finally finalizing a deal with their Premier League rivals.

Mount is United’s first summer signing and has continued what has been something of an exodus from Chelsea since the window opened.The Blues sold Kai Havertz to Arsenal, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly to Al Ahli, Ruben Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan and Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City to make up for last season’s heavy spending.
