Mount reacts to Man Utd transferSpeaking to the club’s official website, Mount first opened up about his 18+ years at Chelsea, where he progressed through Cobham’s academy before establishing himself as a first-team star from 2019.
He explained: “Leaving the club you grew up with is never easy, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career.””After playing them I know how strong the team I’m about to join is and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s quest to win big trophies.””Everyone can see that the club have made great progress under Erik ten Hag.

Mount is United’s first summer signing and has continued what has been something of an exodus from Chelsea since the window opened.The Blues sold Kai Havertz to Arsenal, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly to Al Ahli, Ruben Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan and Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City to make up for last season’s heavy spending.
