injury report: KaVontae Turpin, Tyron Smith miss practice

Following a thrilling but heartbreaking 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys will try to turn things around with a home game against the New York Giants. In relation to the Giants, New York’s campaign is in jeopardy after a season-ending
Daniel Jones, the starting quarterback, is hurt. Starting duties will be taken on by Tommy DeVito, who will report to Dallas this week. Here are the injuries as of the Cowboys’ Wednesday practice to provide you a better idea of the team that will play the Giants on Sunday.
The Cowboys had a few injuries to report to start the week. Tyron Smith, a left tackle, missed practice due to illness rather than an injury. KaVontae Turpin, a return specialist, suffered a shoulder injury during the Eagles game, so he skipped practice. Despite leaving last week’s game due to an injury, Turpin made a comeback. However, it is worth keeping an eye on as the week goes on.
Today’s defense team consisted primarily of Osa Odighizuwa and Markquese Bell. It’s unclear how serious Odighizuwa’s injury is, but hopefully it’s not too bad. Odighizuwa has excelled this season and is capable of taking on the offensive line of the faltering New York Giants. Given how small the Cowboys’ linebacker corps is, Bell’s injury raises some red flags.
