Injury expert shares insight on Tottenham star’s injury: “The worst case for him.”

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with injuries throughout the season, with almost 20 players from Ange Postecoglou’s side suffering setbacks at various points.

To make matters worse, left-back Destiny Udogie, who has been in excellent form, has been added to the injury list.

Despite the difficulties, the Lilywhites have found some hope.

Right-back Pedro Porro, whose participation in the previous North London derby was doubtful owing to injury, played the entire 90 minutes in the 2-3 loss to Arsenal.

It was revealed that the Spaniard’s fitness was rigorously monitored leading up to the key match because he was recovering from a hamstring injury.

Dr. Rajpal Brar suggested that Porro may have needed surgery if he hadn’t healed from his injuries.

Dr. Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, spoke with Tottenham News about the defender’s fitness.

He thoroughly examined Porro’s hamstring issue and concluded that it was most likely a high Grade 1 or low Grade 2 injury based on the timing of his return.

Dr. Brar noted Porro’s ability to play the whole 90 minutes against Arsenal as one of the 24-year-old’s hopeful indicators of recovery.

He stated:

“The worst-case scenario for him would have been a Grade 4 hamstring rupture, which would have required surgery and kept him out for almost 12 weeks.

“The goal was to return against Arsenal, which he did, so this was a high Grade 1 or low Grade 2 injury.”

“Medics will be looking for indicators that he is reacting well to increasing effort, particularly sprinting and acceleration.

“He played the full 90 minutes against Arsenal, which is a strong indication that he’s responded well.

“He should be good to start in midweek as well with no real risk of re-injury.”

Porro plays an important part in Spurs’ starting lineup, mixing defensive responsibilities with big contributions in offense.

His presence is critical for the Lilywhites, as the former Sporting star has provided an outstanding 7 assists in 30 Premier League outings this season.
