Hull City youngster stresses perfection for playoff push.

Hull City will be striving for another significant three points at Watford this Saturday afternoon.

Hull City are well aware of the scale of the task ahead of them when they travel to Watford on Saturday in search of their first Vicarage Road victory since December 2012.

That’s according to defender Matty Jacob, who impressed on his return to the side in the weekend’s 3-0 win against QPR, which kept City’s season alive and their slim hopes of clinching a play-off spot.

City will go to Hertfordshire knowing that only victory would keep their chances alive for another few days as they aim to catch in-form Norwich, who have a six-point lead despite having one game less to play than Liam Rosenior’s Tigers.

Rosenior’s side have been drinking in the last chance saloon for a few weeks now, having beaten Cardiff and QPR while drawing with play-off opponents Middlesbrough, and they are well aware of the importance of points.

“We still all believe we can do it,” a determined Jacob told Hull Live ahead of the journey down the M1. “If we win our last four games, we’ll have seven (points) from the last three; if we get 12 from the next four, I believe we’ll be right there. We know we have to be perfect, which makes it simpler because we just know we have to win, win, win till the game is finished.”

“Whenever a new manager comes in, the players will want to impress, whether it’s getting contracts or whether it’s to cement their place in the team for next season, they’ll still be right at it,” Jacob added. “We won’t underestimate them, but we back ourselves against any team as you’ve seen plenty of times when we’ve played away; Southampton and Leicester, we will back ourselves.”
