Sepp van den Berg, a defender for Liverpool, may be on the verge of leaving the team this summer due to interest from Premier League clubs.

Van den Berg spent the previous campaign on loan with Preston North End, where he established himself as a starter. Van den Berg made four appearances after joining from PEC Zwolle in 2019 before being loaned away.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the Merseyside club has had inquiries from the Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga to sign the Dutch defender this summer. As a result, the defender is likely to spend another brief period away from Liverpool.

It will be quite difficult for the 20-year-old to break into the first team with Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joel Matip currently in the Liverpool roster.

His development should benefit from another loan, and after prospering in the Championship, he needs to go up to premier league competition.

Van den Berg’s most recent loan stint reportedly impressed the Liverpool management, so the Dutchman will be looking to keep up his strong play against stronger competition.
