Frenkie de Jong’s transfer deadline has been confirmed by Barcelona as Man Utd finally breakthrough.

Prior to the start of the new Premier League season, Manchester United has finally made progress in its pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The confirmation by Barcelona President Joan Laporta that new hires must be registered by August 13 will help Manchester United’s pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.
After spending months trying to sign the 25-year-old midfielder, the Red Devils have finally succeeded. Erik ten Hag has made the Dutchman one of his top transfer targets after working with him for four and a half years at Ajax.
Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde are among the new players Barcelona has added this summer, but for financial reasons, they haven’t all been officially signed yet. They must first clear their budget in accordance with La Liga regulations before they can undertake
Possibly Laporta’s best chance to do so is De Jong. Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, already has a number of center midfielders available to him, including Gavi, Pedri, Franck Kessie, and Sergio Busquets; a sale would result in one of the highest-paid players leaving Camp Nou.
Laporta recently informed reporters that “We are doing everything possible to register the autographs.” “We have till August 13 to complete it.”
The president added, “Let’s hop that the league sees it that way too,” after expressing optimism that all of Barcelona’s summer additions would be registered before the deadline.
Laporta’s remarks imply that a deal for De Jong might be finalized soon. Barcelona would receive a sizable sum of money in addition to having his salary removed from their books. It’s thought that the two clubs have agreed to a £56.2 million starting fee, with a potential increase to £72 million.
De Jong’s deferred compensation is the main issue. Barcelona is thought to owe De Jong £17 million in payments and additional stipulations. Despite having made several pricey additions this summer, the Spanish club is apparently having trouble affording this.
Barcelona wants the midfielder to either go or accept a pay reduction, despite the fact that he apparently wants to remain at the Camp Nou. Both of those solutions lack sufficient appeal, resulting in a deadlock in the saga.
The idea of United assuming liability for these payments has been mooted, although the legality of this is questionable. De Jong may have to write off the £17m owed to him if he’s to secure a move to Old Trafford. The situation is complex, to say the least.
Barcelona’s summer signings include Lewandowski, Kessie, Raphinha, Kounde, Andreas Christensen and Pablo Torre, spending more than £130m in transfer fees. Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta is also on their shopping list. United, meanwhile, have made three signings so far this summer – Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.
Xavi was quizzed on De Jong’s future after Barcelona’s 2-0 win against New York Red Bulls on Sunday. “I don’t know if he’s going to stay, there’s still time and a lot of things can still happen,” he admitted. “At the moment he’s part of the team, like everyone else.”
