Five explanations are offered by Jurgen Klopp for why liverpool “fell in love” with Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez, a prolific Uruguayan striker who scored 34 goals for Benfica last season, was brought to Merseyside see by Liverpool last month for an initial £64 million investment.
darwin nunez, a summer acquisition for jurgen klopp’s liverpool team, has allegedly “fallen in love” with the group.
the 23-year-old international from uruguay was acquired from benfica last month for a reported £64 million. with add-ons, that sum might increase to £85 million, making him the most expensive player in club history. the striker has a strong resume and scored 34 club goals the previous seaso
after moving to bayern munich in the summer, nunez will take sadio mane’s place in the starting xi. the 30-year-old senegal international became a staple of klopp’s squad and a liverpool legend during his six-year stay, scoring 120 goals.
Nunez is expected to have an immediate impact at Anfield, and Klopp is encouraged by what he has seen thus far. With goals in both legs of Benfica’s Champions League quarterfinal match against Liverpool last season, the young forward left a lasting impact.
Nunez will travel with the Reds on their preseason tour to Thailand and Singapore, the team has confirmed. Before the Community Shield match against Manchester City on July 30, Klopp’s team will play friendlies against United, Crystal Palace, Leipzig, and RB Salzburg.
When he played in front of us, it was quite stunning, Klopp told Liverpool’s website. “When Benfica prepares, you know down to the size of the shoes; we know virtually everything about a competitor, so we know exactly about the caliber of Darwin.”
“Because he had just returned from an international tournament and it was the opening game, it was unclear if he would participate. He was obviously quite talented. But it was truly remarkable when you saw it in person.
Klopp underlined the specifics of what impressed them, “The power and the mix-up with technique, the desire, smart moves, the troubles he caused us.” “These two games made us all fall in love.
“It’s fantastic that he’s a really aggressive South American! Being able to watch him play was truly enjoyable, so when we realized we had a chance to sign him, we went all-in. We are now extremely grateful that he is here.”
Additionally, Klopp explained why Liverpool signed freshmen Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay. The Liverpool manager cited “their quality” as the reason. “The quality comes first, and then aging enters the picture.
Because if you have quality and you are 32 I’m very interested, to be honest. But quality and being 18 or 19, playing already an awful lot of games, having a real impact in their team performance for their former clubs, it’s rare. And both had that.”
But Klopp has confirmed Ramsay is has picked up an injury. “Calvin is now not training with us in the moment, he has a little injury,” he added. “Nobody knew, we found it when he did his medical check. Until today he has no problems but the medical department tells us if we don’t take care for that now, he will have a problem in the future.
“So, when you are that young then of course he has a long career ahead of him, so we are very responsible in these moments, so he didn’t train yet with the team but is doing a lot of fitness work. So, it will not take too long I think.”
