Under FSG, Liverpool enjoys a good deal, and one player who has already made an impression on Jürgen Klopp is apparently now available for a bargain £26 million transfer cost.

Fabian Ruiz, a star for Napoli who impressed Jurgen Klopp, is available to Liverpool for £26 million.

Since his transfer from Real Betis to Napoli four years ago, midfielder Fabián Ruiz has played a crucial role in the Neapolitan system.

Although not the fastest, the Spaniard, who has a wide variety of passing skills, adapted swiftly to life in Serie A and played a key role under Carlo Ancelotti, Gennaro Gattuso, and Luciano Spalletti.

He has played 166 games for Napoli over the past four years, tallying 22 goals and 15 assists. Ruiz assisted Napoli in defeating Juventus to win the Coppa Italia in 2020, giving him his first significant trophy.

However, since his contract has been expiring over the past 12 months, rumors have grown that his time in Italy may be coming to an end. The fact that his contract is set to expire next summer has fueled rumors that Napoli is prepared to cash in on Ruiz now because it is thought improbable that he will agree to a contract extension.

Lorenzo Insigne left the team earlier after joining Toronto FC of the MLS. Other players rumored to be dissatisfied with the team include Kalidou Koulibaly and Dries Mertens.

At 26, Ruiz could ostensibly slowly take over from Thiago in serving that purpose, despite not being as good as the former Bayern Munich man.

Moreover, if Liverpool could sign him for around £20m-£25m, then it would be a low-cost gamble. If it didn’t work out, he could always be sold on, most likely for profit.

But it’s unlikely Liverpool will get involved in the race to sign him, at least this summer. Klopp has even younger pretenders to Thiago’s throne in Harvey Elliott and potentially Fábio Carvalho, and even a bargain transfer fee probably won’t tempt him into blocking their progress.
