Leeds United will prepare to bid goodbye to a few of players this summer.

Leeds United’s hopes of regaining promotion to the Premier League at the first attempt remain very much alive. The Whites missed out on a place in the top two, but they have qualified for the play-offs, which begin on Sunday afternoon when Daniel Farke’s side travels to Norwich City.

The winner will go to Wembley Stadium to compete in the play-off final, with promotion on the line. Leeds did not finish the regular season well, but they will be optimistic of progressing through the competition to earn the opportunity to participate in the top division next season.

Only when the season has over will they announce their retained list, and it appears that as many as eight first-team players may be discharged. Here’s a look at those nearing the conclusion of their current contracts at Elland Road.

Robin Koch

Koch has been on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt this season and he has already confirmed he has signed an agreement to join the Bundesliga on a permanent basis this summer. He’ll take up a three-year deal with Frankfurt, where he has excelled enough to work his way back into international contention.

Liam Cooper

The five-year deal Cooper signed at Elland Road back in 2019 is coming to an end this summer. Cooper joined Leeds back in 2014 and he has made 283 appearances since.
