Dominik Szoboszlai expressed his happiness over connecting with Wataru Endo at Liverpool.

After being rivals in Germany, the two moved to Anfield during the summer transfer window as part of the Reds’ midfield makeover. Endo was brought in from Stuttgart for £16.3 million, while Szoboszlai signed from RB Leipzig for a cost of £60 million.

Far too many supporters were unfamiliar with the latter name. Furthermore, at thirty years old, he did not suit Liverpool’s typical playing profile.

Following a sluggish beginning, Endo has been playing exceptionally well since adjusting to life on Merseyside. He put on yet another outstanding display in Sunday’s 1-1 tie with Manchester City.

Speaking to the media on Thursday before Liverpool’s Europa League last-16 second leg against Sparta Prague, who they lead 5-1 overall, Szoboszlai also discussed why playing against Endo is so challenging.

“I played against him when he was at Stuttgart,” the captain of Hungary stated. He’s an all-around player. When you turn around, it seems as though you have already passed him.

People may be wondering, “How is he there exactly when I just passed him?’ and I can see why. Having him on my squad makes me happy.”

After missing six games due to a hamstring injury, Szoboszlai has just returned to full health. He did, however, start last Sunday’s 1-1 tie with Manchester City, the Premier League’s top opponent, and he feels fully recovered.

Indeed, he said, “I’m back.” I hope that my current state of not experiencing any discomfort continues into the future.

“It’s the worst thing that can happen to you to be injured, to not be allowed to be in the team even if you want and you are watching from the television and the stands.”
