According to David Ornstein, Liverpool’s signing of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez on a cheap contract may help to explain why negotiations to re-sign star player Mohamed Salah have stalled.
It’s possible that Liverpool didn’t expect to strike an arrangement with Salah that would be more to their liking, which is why they felt the need to sign Nunez on this very inexpensive deal.Fans of the Reds won’t likely find much solace in this, though.
