Cowboys Keep Losing Talent To One Opponent

The Dallas Cowboys should be viewed as one of the losers in the first wave of free agency because they have essentially remained same.

Over the past few weeks, the Cowboys have lost a number of their most important free agents, but they haven’t taken many steps to replace them.

A number of players left, notably defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who went to become the head coach of the Washington Commanders, leaving the defense severely depleted.

Dallas’ defense was among the best in the league under Quinn, and they excelled in the 2023 NFL season.

However, as the NFC East is shaping up to be a more competitive division in 2024, the Cowboys will now have to deal with Quinn twice a season.

Every time a coordinator departs to take a new position, their former players usually gravitate toward them.

According to Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News, cornerback Noah Igbinoghene became the fourth player to leave the Cowboys after signing with the Commanders.

Quinn’s efforts to recruit some of his former teammates to Washington are not surprising, but it does force Dallas to replace more players than they would have preferred.

An infusion of talent at numerous critical defensive places is something the Cowboys could use right now, thus the 2024 NFL Draft will be a significant event.
