Breaking News: Report linking Burnley boss with Brighton said to be. . .

According to the Burnley Express, reports that Vincent Kompany has held negotiations with Brighton are likely to be inaccurate.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Seagulls have approached the Burnley manager as a possible replacement for current head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is expected to leave this summer.

The Italian has been connected with a number of job openings in recent weeks, including Liverpool, who are looking for Jurgen Klopp’s replacement.

A number of other elite roles are set to open up at the end of the season, including Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and possibly Manchester United.

De Zerbi has two years left on his current Brighton contract, but talks about a new deal have stagnated.

Tavolieri anticipates that if he leaves, Kompany will be considered. He even claims Burnley has begun to investigate potential replacements.

He stated on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, that if Roberto De Zerbi decides to leave Brighton & Hove Albion at the conclusion of the season, Brighton officials have already identified a number of prospective successors, including Vincent Kompany.

“I’ve been told that informal negotiations have already taken place with the trainer’s side to determine whether a departure from Burnley was possible.

“With this in mind, Clarets have already began discussions with several intermediaries to assess the coaching market in the event that Vince ‘The King’ departs.

“Nothing is done yet! However, the musical chairs in the coaching sector may be in for a few surprises! “Wait and see.”

However, the Burnley Express understands that these stories are not true.

Despite their struggle to avoid relegation, Burnley has stood by Kompany this season.

It has been stated that, regardless of whether the team remains in the Premier League or not, the Belgian is here to stay.

In December, following Burnley’s terrible start to the season, minority stakeholder JJ Watt gave Kompany his entire support during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

“He ain’t going, I’ll tell you that right now,” he went on to say.

Following Burnley’s Championship victory last season, Kompany was connected with Chelsea and Tottenham, as well as the position of manager of the Belgium national team.
