Boss Searle exudes confidence: Ebbsfleet set to defy odds and stay up.

Ebbsfleet boss Danny Searle has instructed his players to “tidy up” in the season’s last two games.

The Fleet’s National League survival bid is down to the wire, as they are only two points from the drop zone.

Despite collecting 22 points in manager Danny Searle’s first 11 games, the Fleet had suffered back-to-back losses.

Small margins have cost them, particularly in Saturday’s home loss to Altrincham, and the Fleet manager understands that, while performances have been strong, what occurs at either end of the pitch is what matters now.

‘ I know it sound stupid but other than the silly goals we conceded we were the much better side on Saturday’, said Searie.

‘But, as you and I both know, football is about not conceding and scoring, and we were bad at both ends of the pitch.

Despite having only three shots on goal, we could have easily won the game even if we were down 2-0. It is what it is; we must dust ourselves off and go on.

It’s about cleaning up; if we had taken a fourth of our opportunities on Saturday, we could have been successful. That will be the instruction on Tuesday; simply be more clinical and daring in the penalty area.

‘If we play at the same level of performance, intensity, and aggression that we did on Saturday, I am convinced that we will be alright.
