As Jürgen Klopp “may finalize midfield swap deal,” Liverpool “seek £68 million Bernardo Silva move.”

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is allegedly planning a swap deal to bring Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovi to Anfield. Naby Keta and Roberto Firmino are reportedly two players who could be offered in exchange.

Although Thiago Alcântara has now been added to the list of midfield ailments for Liverpool, signing 29-year-old Brozovi does not seem like a move they would be likely to make — and Klopp reaffirmed over the weekend that no “panic” signings” will be made.Furthermore, losing Keta would simply negate the addition of a midfielder, while losing Firmino would leave them lacking in attack. Although the Croatian is a competent player, this one doesn’t quite stack up.

In addition to all of this, Brozovi apparently makes £195,000 per week (via Calcio e Finanza), which is significantly more than Liverpool would be willing to pay for him.

Move by Gini Wijnaldum favorably received

Even though the midfield for Liverpool hasn’t been performing well so far this year, a former Reds player who once occupied that spot received a warm welcome on Sunday at AS Roma.

After José Mourinho finalised Gini Wijnaldum’s loan transfer from PSG, a year after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer to join the French champions, Gini Wijnaldum was introduced to the Roma supporters.

Wijnaldum’s return to Liverpool had been speculatively connected earlier in the summer, but the Reds were never going to be interested.

Despite their interest in nearly every other footballer available, Barcelona, the other club who wanted him last summer, evidently felt even they couldn’t afford to take him today.

Fichajes claims that Liverpool is in the running to get Bernardo Silva, a midfielder for Manchester City, and that they are up against Barcelona and PSG for his services.

Silva, who is reportedly worth €80 million (£68 million), is unquestionably a world-class player, but Guardiola would never permit him to join a championship competitor. Selling Sterling to Chelsea is one thing, but this is a very different situation.

The former AS Monaco star is a tireless presser, versatile enough to play in numerous places, and consistently contributes goals and assists, making him the ideal player for Liverpool. However, this one won’t take place.

If he decides to go, Barcelona seems like the most likely place to go, if they can sell enough of their future to pay for the relocation.
