Agents have told Liverpool they are ready to bid to sign £52million star – Determined next week
Liverpool are interested in signing Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP and today comes an intriguing update from Portugal.
According to an exclusive story covered by Record (news clip below), Chelsea have joined forces with the Reds and Aston Villa to lure the Uruguayan midfielder.
Famous media have claimed that Todd Boehly, the owner of the Blues, is a great admirer of Portuguese football and a close partner of Jorge Mendes, who is negotiating the deal for the La Liga Nos midfielder.
Aston Villa has taken notes and is attentive to the situation of Ugarte, who is expected to leave Sporting this summer.
As for Liverpool, Record says they have already told agents, Jorge Chijane and Jorge Mendes, that they are ready to move with an offer to sign the 22-year-old offender. As for the asking price, representatives have been advised that the South American star will only be able to walk away if the £52million clause in his deal is triggered.
Sporting tried to increase the value of the release clause, but failed. If sold in the summer, the Primeira Liga giants will get 70% of the total stake. Instead the former clubs, Fenix and Famalicao, get 20 percent and 10 percent respectively
