After Joe Gomez’s signing, Liverpool fans anticipate “mad pairing”
Following the signing of a new five-year deal, Liverpool supporters think Joe Gomez is “very much the future,” with many looking forward to a potential partnership with Ibrahima Konate
Gomez has agreed to a long-term contract extension that will keep him at Anfield through 2027, which would extend his time there by another five years.
With the No. 12 agreeing to stay with Liverpool after turning 30, Klopp’s defense probably included promises of regular playing time.
Gomez is anticipated to compete with Konate and Joel Matip for the starting position opposite Virgil van Dijk once the new season gets underway.
But while Liverpool supporters responded to Gomez’s new contract on Twitter, many focused on a long-term connection with Konate.
