The battle for the Premier League title seems to be open at the moment.

We saw Manchester City lose to Arsenal on Sunday night, meaning Pep Guardiola’s side have now suffered their first Premier League defeat since 2018.
The problem for City is even after this setback, they could go on a 20 game unbeaten run.

That’s what they do. We can’t give anything away because we’ve been here with them before. I think Arsenal are at the same level as us and City are always the one to beat.
However, it no longer feels like another battle between just us and City.

Tottenham are much better, Chelsea are improving, Arsenal are growing and we have moved on from last season.

The only team worse is Manchester United. Man City are not where they were and Sunday proved that this season will not be easy for them.

If Liverpool want to make a real challenge for the title, we need to organize our defence. All good title winning teams keep clean sheets and we don’t have that at the moment.

We score too many first goals.
With the teams we played and the points we have, I think we are still in a good position.

We played five of the eight matches away from home and the only game we lost was due to bad decisions by the referees.

Mac Allister’s midfield experiment to gain possession failed
Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Brighton was further proof that Mac Allister is not fit to be a holding midfielder, not that we need another reminder. I thought the game was for Endo, but we never saw him.
In the first half we fought badly and defended badly.

If you have a holding midfielder in the team who can do the job, it doesn’t help half the time. Brighton played it, especially in the opening period. Mac Allister should be ten yards up the pitch because he’s a really good player who creates things.

He will play the No. 6 role because he is asked, but it is not natural for him. I know people blamed him for the goal, but Virgil put him in danger with the pass. We cannot take such risks.
I don’t know why we start games so slowly.

We had five minutes in the first half where we were brilliant but we weren’t there for the other 40. Ryan Gravenberch missed a golden chance to make it 3-1 and should have scored, but I think he did well when he came on. and made a great impression. He can be a bright light for the future.
