According to the South London Press, AFC Wimbledon wants to sign Sutton United forward Harry Smith this summer.

Johnnie Jackson’s team is one of several that have showed interest in signing the striker this summer.

Despite Sutton’s relegation to the National League, the 28-year-old had a huge effect, scoring 19 goals throughout all competitions, including 11 in League Two.

Our paper stated at the close of the season that the Dons were trying to strengthen their forward line and wanted to add two options to their ranks over the off-season, with Josh Davison expected to leave Plough Lane this summer.

Smith, a former Millwall striker who has also played for Leyton Orient and Northampton, has more than 150 League Two appearances and 50 goals to his name.

Last summer, the Dons signed Omar Bugiel on a free transfer from Sutton, and the Lebanese international quickly became a fan favourite at SW19.

Josh Kelly was also signed in the January transfer window, after Ali Al-Hamadi was sold to Ipswich for a club record amount during the Phoenix era.
